Christmas Knitting in January

Spring is right around the corner…most are pulling out patterns for vests and tanks.  It’s gray and dreary and rainy in the Pacific Northwest.  We don’t see what looks like spring until April. I’m just a wee bit stuck in winter.  I’m so happy to know that I’m not the only one still knitting Christmas things.

One friend is crocheting stockings, the other is knitting big cute mittens that they use as stockings.

001The first of what I hope will be 4 new knitted Christmas stockings by December 1st.

010The plan is that they will all be different.  Different patterns.  Different colors.

In fact, I got so inspired hearing that others are already creating for next Christmas I cast on the 2nd stocking….

Definitely winter! Infinity scarves. I found a pattern on Ravelry where a gal counted the stitches on a scarf at the GAP. I love it! I’ve made two so far. Downside, it’s seed stitch. Slow going.

There is no knitting going on at my house, but there is knitting dreaming – does that count? 🙂 I’m so inspired by the idea of knitted socks or mittens as stockings. That really makes my heart happy. Perhaps, when I am able to knit at last, I will do that as my happy project. 🙂
